  6. HyperSnap (formerly SnapShot/32) brings professional quality, 
  7. convenient Windows 95 and NT screen captures to your finger-tips.  
  8. It was designed for ease of use, with powerful and useful 
  9. features to aid the professional as well as support the needs of 
  10. the occasional user.  Use it just a few times - you'll find it to 
  11. be indispensable.

  13. HyperSnap (SnapShot/32) was selected by Siemens Nixdorf as a 
  14. standard software component distributed with their powerful 
  15. CELSIUS personal workstations! Read more about this in our help 
  16. file.

  18. Some of the more impressive features are listed here; this
  19. is but a partial list. Current users will want to see the list
  20. of new features in the Changes area at the end of this file.

  22. The best way to get to know HyperSnap is to simply use it!
  23.  
  24.   Save your image as a BMP, GIF, or JPEG file. GIFs can 
  25.   optionally be interlaced and include transparent backgrounds,
  26.   and HyperSnap can create progressive JPEGs, perfect for 
  27.   World Wide Web page use. Choose your color depth for BMP 
  28.   captures, too.
  29.  
  30.   Web and Help File Authors, don't miss what HyperSnap can 
  31.   do for you!

  33.   -GIF images can be saved as interlaced files, with transparent 
  34.    backgrounds, and three levels of color reduction.
  35.  
  36.   -JPEGs have save options for a user-defined percentage of 
  37.    output quality, and the "fade-in" format.
  38.  
  39.   -The Quick Save feature is a lifesaver -- just keep on making 
  40.    those captures, without interruption. HyperSnap saves them 
  41.    each to an individual, sequentially named GIF or JPEG file, 
  42.    in the custom format you choose, for your later use.

  44.   -Include the cursor image in your Web Page or Help File image 
  45.    to better display your product shot or call attention to a 
  46.    specific item.

  48.   -The Window capture feature makes my day. The feature captures
  49.    whole windows and sections of windows that are automatically 
  50.    highlighted, even little buttons, without squinting at the 
  51.    screen to make sure you get every pixel of the edge of a cap-
  52.    ture target. A definite eye-saver.

  54.   -The built-in Crop feature is great for making final edits to 
  55.    your capture without transferring it to another program. And 
  56.    thankfully, there's an Undo Crop feature to mitigate the 
  57.    "oops!" factor.

  59.   Choose your own HotKeys that quickly capture the entire 
  60.   Desktop, any Rectangle you outline, or the highlighted Window 
  61.   or Client, and automatically repeat the capture every x seconds 
  62.   or by using another HotKey.

  64.   Automatically save each of your captures to a file by default 
  65.   -- you can even trigger new captures every x seconds and have 
  66.   the filename incremented.

  68.   Print your capture direct from HyperSnap -- it will expand the 
  69.   image to the size of the paper and margins that you set, and 
  70.   even add a frame, reverse, or reduce the output to black and 
  71.   white!

  73.   Drag and Drop BMP, GIF, and JPEG files on HyperSnap to open 
  74.   them!

  123. INSTALLATION
  124. ------------

  126. Install this program by running the self-extracting archive,
  127. HySnap.exe (e.g. double click on its icon). You will be prompted
  128. for the target folder, where HyperSnap files will be installed.
  129. A HyperSnap group (menu) will be created in your Windows 95 Start
  130. menu, together with an "Uninstall" icon that will completely
  131. remove HyperSnap if necessary.

  133. If the uninstall script file (UnHySnap.bat in your Windows 
  134. directory) was accidently deleted, you may still completely 
  135. uninstall HyperSnap by running: 
  136.  
  137.   snap32 -uninstall
  138.  
  139. and then deleting its files and directory manually. To recreate
  140. HyperSnap menu under Windows 95 "Start" button you may run
  141. again HySnap.exe, if you saved it, or just run:
  142.  
  143.   snap32 -install
  144.  
  145. and enter the same directory where HyperSnap is already 
  146. installed.
  147.  
  148. Register your copy of HyperSnap by selecting "Register" under the 
  149. program's Help menu, or from within the help menu.  This program 
  150. is a 'try before you buy' shareware program that relies on your 
  151. support for continued development, and single user registration 
  152. is only $20.00.  When you register HyperSnap you will receive a 
  153. code that enables additional features and become eligible for 
  154. priority support.  You will also be able to obtain free updates 
  155. of the program through our Web page (address below) with which 
  156. you can use your registration code, until the next major release.  
  157.  
  158. To register copies of HyperSnap please use the "Register" program 
  159. usually provided with HyperSnap to make payments.  We use KAGI 
  160. SHAREWARE registration service, which accepts different payment 
  161. methods, including credit card and invoices.  If you live in US
